Direct Support Professionals 

Pay is based on experience. Full-time and Part-time shifts 

Hope Ohio provides direct support services to individuals with disabilities that participate in the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) waiver programs. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our growing team. Hope Ohio offers jobs that you can be proud of.

Responsibilities: Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on quality care and daily activities. Ensure the safety of all clients, model appropriate behavior, and compliance to agency rules. Assist clients with activities of daily living enabling them to remain in their own homes and provide a safe and clean-living environment. Engaging in community integration and person-centered planning is imperative to the success of each individual. May travel to surrounding counties. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:

  • Ability to reason and be empathetic to the individual and direct report needs.

  • Ability to work and cooperate with individuals, co-workers, managers, public and employees at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions, and opinions.

  • Ability to work under stress and in an emotionally charged setting.

  • Ability to defend oneself and individual in mentally/verbally abusive situations, through the use of approved verbal de-escalation techniques.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Current proof of Ohio’s minimum state coverage auto insurance

  • 21 years or older

  • BCI and/or FBI Background Checks

  • Drug Test

  • CPR and First Aid

DSP Lead

 

Hope Ohio is hiring for a competent Direct Support Professional Lead to take on the duties of managing the staff, as well as maintaining the relationships with the families.

In this position you must be an excellent communicator. The goal is to ensure that the company’s staffing requirements are always met and supporting a positive employee culture. The person in this position will care for different levels of functioning individuals. Along with the ability to cover shifts, you must be available to work any shift and care for individuals that may require incontinent care.

Requirements:

  • Previous Direct Support Professional experience a MUST

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to communicate professionally: Written and Oral

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Computer skills a MUST with the ability to use internet based programs

  • Using discretion when working with both families and individuals we serve

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Valid driver’s license with positive record

  • CPR/First Aid

  • Medication Administration (preferred)

  • Reliable Transportation

This position is vital to the growth and success of our agency. You MUST have reliable transportation as you WILL be required to travel throughout the following counties: Franklin, Delaware, Licking, Union, Fairfield, Madison counties. We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead a strong team of people.

Duties include:

  • Visit clients homes to verify documentation and MAR's are maintained

  • Assist with training new hires with serviced individuals

  • Participate in representing the agency in annual meetings with clients

  • Effectively communicate with provider offices to ensure all MAR's are up to date with proper direction.

  • Managing MUI's - assuring they are reported as required by the State of Ohio
